Manulife Monthly High Income Fund wins Morningstar Award
Manulife Monthly High Income Fund, launched in 1997, is managed by veteran portfolio managers Alan Wicks, Jonathan Popper and Conrad Dabiet of Manulife Asset Management. Wicks’ Value Equity Team manages over $13 billion in assets for investors and consists of six portfolio managers and two investment analysts.
"We have an investment process which has demonstrated consistent results since the Fund’s inception" said Wicks, Senior Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager. "This award is the result of a sound investment process and a lot of hard work and collaboration in the interest of delivering on investor expectations."
"Manulife Monthly High Income Fund is a great example of an investment strategy which delivers on its objective and has done so for 17 years" said Derek Saliba, Assistant Vice President and Head of Mutual Funds Product. "We’ve recently extended the ‘Monthly High Income’ approach to the U.S. market with Manulife U.S. Monthly High Income Fund, led by Alan and his team. This Fund applies the same award-winning investment philosophy to the much broader and far more diverse U.S. market."
In addition to this Award, Manulife Investments was also nominated by Morningstar for its Global Infrastructure Fund in the "Best Specialty Equity Fund" category.
"Brookfield Investment Management Inc. has tremendous listed infrastructure capabilities which we offer to Canadian investors" said Saliba. "The infrastructure asset class has very attractive diversification and income generation characteristics which can be a great component of an investor’s portfolio."
Mawer Investment Management Ltd., a key sub-advisor of Manulife Investments, also won several fund awards in their respective categories.
